Dear Neighbors,

It’s election time again in 2008.  We have real challenges ahead of us here in the 35th Legislative District like never before.  I feel these challenges can, and will be opportunities if we elect leaders that understand and have the ability to address and implement our concerns.  I have the experience, dedication, and decision making abilities to represent you in Olympia.

We are over taxed, over regulated, and government at every level is over spending.  We’ve watched our legislators increase spending at rates like never before.  We’ve seen programs come in to play that cost more to administer  than they benefit.  We’ve watched home prices escalate beyond affordability because arbitrary land use decisions force builders and homeowners to prove their land is suitable for building.  What’s wrong with this picture?

As a former Mason County Commissioner I felt the bite of un-funded mandates from Olympia.  I had to make tough decisions to keep our budget balanced and fund programs that were forced on us by the King County mentality.  The one size fits all Growth Management Act needs to be re-structured to accommodate all of Washington, not just Metropolitan Washington.

Sadly, it takes money to run an effective election.  I’ve done well so far but in order to “keep the wheels on the bus” it will take much more.  It appears my opponents have deep pockets.  It will be counter productive to send the same “old politics as usual” people to Olympia. 

I ask you to give me the opportunity to help make the changes we need so badly with your vote and your financial support.
